KnowledgeStudents will learn the eleven different body systems, common disorders that affect our bodies, medical terminology and current day events as they relate to the medical industry. In addition, students will explore all domains of health including psychosocial, physical, and environmental elements and their impact on a person’s wellness.

SkillsStudents will learn transferable skills (CPR and First Aid certification) related to entry-level health occupations , explore career options, and become knowledgeable with post-secondary educational options. Integrated throughout the course are career preparation standards, desirable employee attributes and job seeking skills, as well as personal and interpersonal skills, problem solving, and communication skills. Lastly, students will also be able to define rudimentary medical terms and be able to “break down” other terms in order to have a better understanding of their meaning.

Experience
By the end of the pathway, students will have gained real-life hands-on practical experience working alongside industry professionals and will have learned some of the skills they may need in order to enter the medical field in the future.
